Construction and upgrading of the approx. 2,000 km single carriageway road from Yaounde (Cameroon) to Brazzaville (Congo). In particular, this project involves the section in Cameroon, from Yaounde to the border with Congo.

The PP2 project comprises development of a hydroelectric power station with an installed capacity of 600 MW and construction of associated transmission lines to supply localities in northern Republic of Congo, south-eastern Cameroon and south-western Central African Republic. Verified implementation and technical context: Chollet is designed as a binational generation project with regional evacuation lines rather than a stand-alone national plant. Its development requires a common Cameroon-Republic of Congo institutional framework, a concession and ownership structure, coordinated environmental and social management, power-purchase and transmission arrangements and a financing package covering both the hydropower facility and associated lines. AfDB's CAPP acceleration material lists the project as undergoing financial structuring and gives a euro-denominated investment estimate. This should be treated as a current structuring reference and reconciled with the older PP2 cost basis before database financial fields are changed.

Upgrading of the 1,602 km of single carriageway road from Libreville (Gabon) to Brazzaville (Congo). In particular, this project involves the section in Gabon, from Libreville to the border with Congo.

The Ouesso-Bangui-Ndjamena road is a link in the Pointe Noire-Brazzaville / Kinshasa-Bangui-Ndjamena multimodal transport corridor. The road is also part of the network of the priority program of the consensual master plan of transport in Central Africa (PDCAT). The corridor connects the capitals of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the Central African Republic (CAR) and Chad. It also provides the CAR and Chad with a second access to the sea. A highway network of approximately 1310 km, which starts from Ouesso in North Congo to MbaA¯koro (near Moundou) in the South of Chad while passing through Bangui in Central African Republic. It comprises the following two sections: (i) the Ouesso-Bangui section in the equatorial forest to the South, which is about 640 km long and lies across Congo and the CAR; and (ii) the Bangui-MbaA¯koro section in the savannah woodland to the North, which is about 670 km long and lies in CAR and Chad territory;

Expansion of Pointe Noire Port (Republic of Congo).

The project includes the construction of a road and rail bridge between Brazzaville in Congo and Kinshasa in the DRC. The project also includes road and rail links in both countries as well as joint border control points (One Stop Border Posts). A border control post will be located at each end of the bridge and will house border control officers. Inspections will only be conducted on one side of the river (i.e. on the departure side). The existing road infrastructure will be extended by 10km to connect the bridge to the two cities. The railway bridge will have a total length of 1 575m and 10 bays divided as follows: 2 bays of 120m, 4 bays of 152m, 2 bays of 242m and two bays of 121.5m. The profile on the other side of the road consists of two unidirectional sidewalks with two lanes of 3m. The total width of the road, including sidewalks, is 16.24 m. The two large cable-stayed spans (242m and 152m), located in the river along the banks, give the bridge a gateway to the capitals. The bridge will be located in Maloukou Trechot, 6km from the city of Maluku in Congo. The site is 55km from the two capitals along the river. The bridge is part of a larger project, the Kinshasa-Ilebo railway project, which aims to improve the rail network in Africa. The larger project is expected to contribute to increased regional trade and accelerate regional integration between Central and Southern Africa. The project is expected to allow for cheaper and faster river crossing by passengers and freight. The beneficiaries of the project will therefore include the two countries whose fisci will benefit from increased trade, the increased presence of domestic and foreign companies in both countries, from private transporters and the economic and social benefits of liberated movement of both populations

Le projet de route Ketta-Djoum consiste en sa deuxième phase au bitumage de la section Sembe (Congo)-Mintom (Cameroun). Les travaux concernent les tronçons Sembe-Souanké-Ntam(143km) au Congo et Mintom-Lele-Ntam(90km) au Cameroun, les études et les appuis institutionnels au secteur des transports, l'appui A  la facilitation du transport et du commerce, et le soutien A  la biodiversité.

BAC and LOTEMO have similar hydrological and topographical conditions in a narrow rocky valley of the Lobaye River. Each run-of-river site will use a concrete overflow dam with a powerhouse at the toe of the dam, four 6 MW Kaplan turbine units, 24 MW installed capacity, 16 MW firm capacity in the low-flow period and an equipment flow of 300 cubic metres per second. The programme also includes associated electricity transmission lines. Development of the two sites requires updated hydrological and geological investigation, engineering design, environmental and social assessment, transmission-route studies and agreement on cross-border power supply. The two 24 MW run-of-river plants would provide firm generation during low-flow periods and reinforce a power system with limited existing generation and transmission capacity. The associated lines are central to the project's regional rationale and must be included in technical, environmental, economic and financial assessment. AfDB regional-acceleration material continues to treat BAC and LOTEMO as a preparation-stage priority rather than a commissioned asset.

La réalisation du projet se fera en deux phases suivant le financement actuel.Il comprend des travaux routiers, des mesures de facilitation de transport et d'autres activités connexes de développement. La phase1 comprend le bitumage de 144 km (Ndende-Doussala) au Gabon et 93 km (Dolisie-Kibangu) au Congo, la réhabilitation de 130 km (Kibangu-Ngongo-frontière du Gabon) et la mise en oeuvre des mesures de facilitation de transport. La phase 2 comprendra le bitumage des tronçons restants entre Kibangu et Ngongo,l'aménagement de la voie de contournement de la ville de pointe noire,l'aménagement des ports secs de Dolisie(Congo) et de Ndende(Gabon) et la mise en oeuvre des mesures de facilitation de transport.

The Serenje-Nakonde project road runs in a north eastern direction from Serenje in Zambia's Central Province to Nakonde (at the border post between Zambia and Tanzania) in the Northern Province covering a total distance of 611.5 km. The road is divided in 3 links: Link 1: Serenje to Mpika (238.3 km), Link 2: Mpika to Chinsali (164.6 k), Link 3: Chinsali to Nakonde (208.6 km) The Serenje-Nakonde road is part of the Regional Trunk Road Network (RTRN Link 15) as well as the Trans-African Highway Nr 4.

The project consists of completing the environmental and social impact assessment, updating the tender documents and carrying out the transmission works required to connect Inga, Cabinda and Pointe-Noire. The infrastructure forms part of the wider regional electricity loop serving Inga, Moanda, Boma, Cabinda, Pointe-Noire, Brazzaville and Kinshasa and of a future Central African transmission backbone. The regional concept is intended to create a stronger coastal and western Central African electricity corridor by connecting the Inga generation area and western DRC with Cabinda and Pointe-Noire and, over time, with other CAPP systems. Project-preparation support has included feasibility and tender-document work, while the CAPP acceleration programme treats the investment as requiring further commercial and financial structuring. Official documents refer to different technical configurations for route length, voltage and transfer capacity. Those versions should be reconciled before the database replaces its approved PP2 technical dimensions.

The Congo Basin contains more than 25,000 km of naturally navigable waterways, including at least 15,000 km of classified routes. Managed through CICOS, the programme will improve the safety, reliability and management of inland waterway transport and strengthen integrated water-resource management. Activities include needs assessment and project definition, navigation and hydrometric information, harmonised rules and procedures, institutional capacity, planning for channel and terminal improvements, and data services for governments, operators, communities and research institutions.

The Development of Data Centre Infrastructures Underpinning the Digital Economy is a regional ICT programme under the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS). It envisions establishing six new data centres in Burundi, Central African Republic, Sao Tome and Principe, Chad, Equatorial Guinea, and Gabon, alongside the reinforcement of five existing centres in Angola, Republic of Congo, Cameroon, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The programme is grounded in the Consensual Master Plan for the Development of Electronic Communications Infrastructure in Central Africa (PACDICE-AC), established in 2019, which identified data centre development as a regional priority. The project was formally included in the PIDA Priority Action Plan 2 (PIDA PAP2, 2021-2030) in 2020. Total programme investment is estimated at USD 92.5 million across all components. The programme aims to secure Central African cyberspace, build user confidence in digital services, and regionalise intra-ECCAS data exchange to reduce latency and improve access times. Key challenges include implementation complexity across 11 countries, technical coordination requirements, and funding mobilisation for pre-feasibility and feasibility studies. Regional project under PIDA PAP 2 (2021-2030) to provide and strengthen each ECCAS Member State with high bandwidth fiber optic connectivity and establish a sub-regional data hosting centre in the ECCAS space. The project covers all 11 ECCAS member states (Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Republic of Congo, Rwanda, and Sao Tome and Principe) and aims to create a comprehensive broadband backbone network across Central Africa. The initiative builds on prior work undertaken by the World Bank, PPIAF, and the ITU to address connectivity gaps in the ECCAS sub-region and renew momentum for ECCAS and CEMAC harmonization efforts. Core objectives include securing regional cyberspace, building digital trust, ensuring data sovereignty, and enabling cross-border connectivity. The ECCAS region faces significant ICT access deficits, with only 10.2 internet access lines per 1,000 inhabitants compared to 61.8 for the continent as a whole. The project aims to identify all the obstacles to navigate the Congo River, and the Oubangui and Sangha tributaries as well as the port infrastructure needs in order to improve the conditions and the capacity of safe river transport. The Congo River is navigable for a distance of about 1700 km between Kinshasa and Kisangani. The Oubangui is navigable to Bangui from Liranga, which is 600 km from Brazzaville and the Sangha is navigable for a distance of roughly 710 km between Nola and the confluence with the Congo River. The project proposes sustainable solutions for the rehabilitation, development and operation of the river transport network. At the end of the feasibility study phase, the following developments are proposed for navigation and ports: Navigation: Improvement of the markup, the dredging of the main and secondary channel of the Congo River as well as the management of the difficult passes identified on Oubangui and Sangha. Ports: Dredging in front of wharves, salvaging wrecks, rehabilitating quay walls and quays, acquiring and repairing port operating equipment, rehabilitating buildings, warehouses and roads as well as the layout of certain existing berthing areas, etc. In addition, the project proposes skills development of the personnel of the institutions in charge of river transport of the three countries in the fields related to the code of inland navigation, the safety and security of navigation and port operations.

Deploy a subriver cable between the 2 most closest capital cities in the world (Brazzaville and Kinshasa separated just by the Congo river) with a broadband connectivity Fibre Optic Cable.

The project involves the construction of a One Stop Border Post between Congo and DRC. Related to this project is the construction of a road/rail bridge between Brazzaville and Kinshasa.

The project comprises a dam at the Palambo Rapids on the Oubangui River and an associated hydroelectric plant serving Bangui and neighbouring areas of the Republic of the Congo and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. The dam would regulate downstream flows, particularly during the low-water season, while supporting electricity generation and safer, more reliable navigation between Bangui, Brazzaville and Kinshasa. The project is also linked conceptually to the Oubangui-to-Lake-Chad water-transfer initiative.

The project supports operationalisation of the Single African Air Transport Market by addressing the infrastructure and airspace-management constraints that limit safe, efficient and competitive air transport. It covers both physical aviation infrastructure, including airports and air-navigation systems, and the institutional and technical architecture required for a seamless African airspace. The master plan is expected to consolidate national and regional plans, forecast traffic and capacity needs, identify infrastructure gaps, prioritise investments and develop an implementation roadmap. The seamless airspace component is intended to promote harmonised procedures, performance-based navigation, flexible routes, common surveillance-code arrangements and interoperable CNS/ATM systems. The African Union Commission and AFCAC are the principal continental institutions, working with ICAO, regional economic communities, air-navigation service providers, civil-aviation authorities and industry stakeholders. All African Union member states are beneficiaries. A continent-wide aviation infrastructure gap analysis was completed and validated in 2023. Official ICAO and AFCAC reporting in 2024-2026 indicates that its results are being used to refine the air-navigation master strategy and identify bankable national and regional projects. The 2026 AU Assembly still called for mobilisation of financing for development of the Continental Aviation Infrastructure Master Plan.

The AXIS Project aims to facilitate the development of an African internet infrastructure through policy and regulatory reform, capacity building and technical assistance. Development of an African internet infrastructure refers to the establishment of regional internet exchange points (IXPs) and internet carriers. The AXIS Project is being implemented through two phases. Phase I consists of capacity building to support the establishment of national IXPs through providing a series of two workshops for stakeholders and the Internet Service Provider Association (ISPA) on  I) best practice and benefits of IXP and II) technical assistance through workshops which will cover the technical and administrative skills needed to set up, operate, and administer an IXP. Phase II focuses on supporting establishment of Regional IXP and Regional Internet Carrier through provisioning Capacity building workshops on best practice and benefits of setting up RIXP/IC and providing technical assistance. The AXIS Project is a flagship project of the African Regional Action Plan on Knowledge Economy (ARAPKE) endorsed by the African Union Executive Council.
