The Busega–Mpigi Expressway is an active road project forming the western approach from Kampala toward Mpigi. It is intended to reduce congestion and improve travel reliability through a higher-capacity controlled-access corridor. Construction continued through the 2025/26 period, with the programme value reported at about UGX 547.5 billion.
