Project Overview

The Kampala–Bombo Expressway is a proposed controlled-access road north of Kampala. It is intended to reduce congestion, improve travel reliability and strengthen connections between Kampala and the Bombo corridor. The project remains in early preparation, with the route, feasibility and financing structure still to be confirmed.

Description

<p>Develop the Kampala Bombo Expressway to facilitate mobility and trade between Kampala and the major towns of Bombo,Masindi, Kigumba and Gulu, as well as to the neighbouring countries of Sudan and the DRC.</p>

Objectives

<p>The project's objectives are to increase the capacity on this section of the Northern Corridor, and to reduce the transport time and cost on the Northern Corridor through improved road infrastucture.</p>
