Lusaka - Lilongwe Fibre-optic Link (Zambia section) is a terrestrial digital-connectivity project serving Malawi and Zambia. It seeks to increase international bandwidth and route resilience through fibre cable, transmission equipment and cross-border interconnection facilities. The Zambian section of the Lusaka–Lilongwe fibre link is reported operational and provides cross-border connectivity toward Malawi. Current capacity and availability require operator confirmation.
<p>The project entails the installation of the Zambia section of the 600 km fibre-optic link between Lusaka and Lilongwe: from Lusaka to the border with Malawi.</p>
<p>The project objectives are to provide redundancy and reduce landed prices of internet capacity.</p>
