The Kenyan section of the proposed Kenya–Uganda Petroleum Products Pipeline would extend refined-products transport from Kenya toward Uganda. It is intended to reduce road tanker movements, improve supply reliability and lower logistics costs through a cross-border pipeline and associated pumping and storage facilities. The project remains at transaction support and financial-close stage; current fuel trade continues to use existing Kenyan pipeline and storage assets.

The objective is to alleviate the road traffic volumes on the Northern Corridor, by providing another mode of transport for petroleum products, namely pipeline.
