The El Fasher-Kabkabiya-El Geneina-Adri project will develop a paved cross-border road connection through Darfur to Chad. The approved scope comprises approximately 328 km of new paved road and 21 km of upgrading, for a combined length of about 349 km.
The PAP II CAPEX baseline is USD 262.4 million. The project is reported conservatively at S1 - Project Definition.
The project is intended to provide a paved regional road from El Fasher through Kabkabiya and El Geneina to Adri at the Chad border. It covers about 328 km of new construction and 21 km of upgrading, giving an overall planned length of approximately 349 km.
The road would improve access across Darfur, strengthen Sudan-Chad connectivity, reduce travel costs and isolation and support trade, humanitarian access and regional integration.
The PAP II financial baseline is USD 262.4 million in CAPEX.
The project remains active in the PAP II portfolio, but the current conflict and institutional environment in Darfur mean that anticipated schedules or general road activity cannot be treated as progress on this specific corridor. No construction-stage claim is made.
Construct and upgrade the El Fasher-Kabkabiya-El Geneina-Adri road; improve cross-border connectivity between Sudan and Chad; reduce transport costs and isolation; support regional trade and access to services; and improve movement along a strategically important Darfur corridor.
