Harvesting Project is to promote the sustainable management of rangeland in the
Talkuk Locality, Kassala State. Proposed p</span>roject interventions include:</span></p>



<p class="MsoNormal" [removed]="font-size:8.5pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">Increasing
water harvesting through constructing traditional teras, libish, and small
dams; delineating wild flooding areas; multiplying local grass varieties and
forage trees with re-seeding and planting them to improve rangelands,
construction of livestock watering points in rangelands and along stock
migration routes, rehabilitation of existing hafirs, improvement of livestock
market infrastructure; training of para-veterinary workers; supporting
participatory landuse planning; promoting off-farm income generating
activities, supporting formation of savings and credit cooperatives (SACCOs),
improving processing of agricultural products.</span></p>



<p class="MsoNormal" [removed]="font-size:8.5pt;font-family:"Times New Roman",serif">The
prefeasibility study for the project was carried out in the period 2010-2012
under the Watershed Delineation and Prioritization Project.</span></p>
