The proposed Port Sudan - Dakar railway should link the capital cities of the member states crossed by the main route, namely Dakar (Senegal), Bamako (Mali), Ouagadougou (Burkina Faso), Niamey (Niger), N'Djamena (Chad), Khartoum (Sudan), Port Sudan (Sudan).
