Upgrading of 28 km of single carriageway road between Kobero and Muyinga in Burundi.
<p>The road is currently paved with bitumen and needs upgrading to asphalt concrete as well as carriageway expansion from 6 meter to 7 meters. The Kobero-Muyinga is on the RN6. This road forms part of the shortest route to a trade port (Dar es Salaam), and carries 60% of international traffic with Burundi.</p>
<p>The objectives are to provide for better transport connectivity between Burundi and sea ports, and to reduce the transport time on the Central Corridor.</p>
