Lusaka-Lilongwe Fibre-optic Link (Malawi section) is a terrestrial digital-connectivity project serving Malawi and Zambia. It seeks to increase international bandwidth and route resilience through fibre cable, transmission equipment and cross-border interconnection facilities. The Malawi section of the Lusaka–Lilongwe fibre link is reported operational, providing terrestrial cross-border connectivity with Zambia. Current route capacity and service performance require operator confirmation.
<p>The project entails the installation of the Malawi section of the 600 km fibre-optic link between Lusaka and Lilongwe: from the Zambia border to Lilongwe.</p>
